Goat milk has been used on skin for generations, but most brands dilute it into water‑heavy creams. We freeze‑dry fresh milk from our own herd, then tuck it into anhydrous balms, melts, powders, and soaking stones so every formula carries the real thing.
Snow goes first because she's pushy like that. Every pearl, stone, and soak starts here.
Fresh goat milk gets lightly pasteurized and freeze-dried into shelf-stable powder without losing the lactic acid, vitamins, or fat your skin actually needs.
Small batches. Calendula from our farm and local honey for Milk & Honey. Foraged sumac berry and cedarwood for our Harrow steamer line.
Stones set overnight. Soaking Pearls get sealed at 40% humidity or below. Beauty Melts poured by hand. Every batch fits on one table.
Your product has a zip code. Not a warehouse in a foreign country.
Four formulas. One quiz. Find the serum pearl your skin is asking for.
Most goat milk brands buy powdered milk from a supplier and pour it into a mold. We milk our own herd on Bone + Bear Farms in Grantsburg, Illinois, then freeze-dry it ourselves. Same family, four generations. Every melt, pearl, stone, and balm starts about 50 feet from where you'd pet the goats.
Goat milk has a pH of 6.4, which is close to your skin's own pH. That means it doesn't strip or fight your barrier the way most alkaline products do. We don't make medical claims, but we formulate for people whose skin throws a fit at everything else. Depending on the product, we use calendula, lavender, local honey, colloidal oatmeal, and other botanicals alongside the goat milk base.
Spray-dried milk (the kind most brands use) gets blasted at over 300°F. That destroys vitamins, enzymes, and proteins before the milk ever touches your skin. We freeze-dry at sub-zero temperatures under vacuum. The water leaves. The good stuff stays. No preservatives needed because bacteria can't grow without moisture.
After age 40, your body produces a compound called 2-nonenal. Regular soap can't touch it. Persimmon tannins bind to nonenal molecules and break them down at the molecular level. Joshua researched the Japanese kakishibu tradition and built the Fresh Hooves line around that science. Every Fresh Hooves product contains persimmon leaf tannins, which we have carefully sourced while our grove matures. The full Fresh Hooves line is coming soon.
Everything ships shelf-stable. Freeze-drying removes the water, so our soaks, stones, powders, and steamers don't need refrigeration or rush shipping. We ship from Grantsburg, Illinois. Your product has a zip code.
Every product page links to the full INCI ingredient list at thegildedgoat.com/ingredients. We use goat milk from our own herd, featuring botanicals from our fields, like lavender, calendula, and others. All ingredients you can pronounce. No parabens, no sulfates, no synthetic fragrance. We strive to grow on our farm, source locally when possible, and make everything by hand in small batches.
Serum pearls are freeze-dried doses of goat milk loaded with targeted actives. You crush one between your fingers, add a few drops of water, and smooth it onto your skin. Each pearl is a single-use fresh serum, no bottle, no preservative. We make them in four formulas: Glow, Radiance, Polish, and Root. Take our quiz to find yours.
